As a bricklaying student at Australian College of Management and Innovation, I expected to learn practical skills like laying bricks, mixing mortar, and working on real construction tasks. What I did not expect was how much fun, support, and friendship would come with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week, after a long day of training, our trainer surprised us with something none of us saw coming. Instead of packing up and heading home like usual, he organised a casual after class barbecue for all the bricklaying students. It turned into one of those moments that reminded us why we enjoy being here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Day to Remember<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

We had spent most of the afternoon building walls, working in pairs, and helping each other improve our technique. It was a solid day of training and everyone was pretty tired. Then our trainer smiled and said, \u201cYou have all been working hard. Let\u2019s do something fun.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next thing we knew, a BBQ setup appeared in the training yard!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suddenly the whole place felt different. Instead of focusing on measurements and brick lines, we were laughing, setting up chairs, grabbing drinks, and watching the grill heat up. The smell of sausages and burgers filled the air and everyone started relaxing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In that moment, we were not just classmates. We felt like a proper team.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why This BBQ Meant So MuchTraining in a trade can be challenging. You want to get everything right. The measurements, the brick placement, the timing. Sometimes it can feel a bit stressful when you are learning something new.<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

But that afternoon reminded us that support and friendship matter just as much as technical skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New friendships. Some of us spoke to classmates we had barely talked to before. By the end of the BBQ, it felt like one big group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Real motivation. That simple gesture from our trainer made us feel appreciated and proud of the hard work we put in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
